Trace Crop Off

Things that surround us may speak louder of us than ourselves. In these series I document car marks on walls, short-circuited signs, vanishing traces... vestiges of a urban life whose appearance partakes of some calligraphic spontaneity, -a possible language of the world and nature- that end up revealing a number of individual and social meanings slipping out the hands of the janitor historically in charge.

Since most of what we see and believe is being conditioned by the limits of our visual span, I invite the viewer into a photographic and literary exchange of language in order to perceptively edit the world as a “figurative text”. A text whose richness remains concealed in the routine of our eyes, within the periphery of a retina and nurished by the hazards of corporate advertising, and political or religious propaganda.

I hope these works help to make better our sense of beauty in places where we don't usually expect it to emerge and under circumstances when we need it the most.
